Poem
Fateful Day
(Ode to the Flowers,Grass and all else that fades)

Beauty and majesty arrayed in the fields
To them all creation pauses and yields
For they are the stars and lights on the earth
The fields are colored with their splendor from birth

The strong soft grass is a backdrop of green
Creating environment and empowering their sheen
Providing a place for them to shine
We assume the grass will last throughout time

Yet there is always a fateful day
When the grass will wither and the flower will fade
You are destined to be on that list
It’s a fateful day that we all must kiss

Yet there is a Redeemer to give you hope
One strong and mighty who stands on the boat
Grab the line so you don’t sink fast
There is only one thing on this earth that will last

Solomon clothed in his glorious array
Only lasted a breath and a day
The richest the wisest most famed of his time
God gave him the key to what lasts and shines

In his proverb he so does say
That the grass does wither and the flower fades
But the one thing that will stand forever true
Is the Word of God that he gives to you

"How do I get centered?" you might ask. We seem to get
thrown about by the waves of life and our own desires. You
may have all that you thought you wanted, yet you don't
know why you find yourself doing the things you do. You
end up tormented. Do you need to be centered?
In order to be centered you must find the middle of
something that doesn’t constantly move.

We are mortals, affected by life, emotions and other people.
Human beings move as quickly as life moves. It's impossible
to be centered when you make yourself the center of
everything. We are created to place our lives in the hand
One greater than ourselves. The question is, “Are we
willing to place our lives in the hand of a God we don’t
see? Are we willing to change our lifestyles for Him?”
Getting next to the one who is the center, the Creator of
the universe, the Author of the unmovable, the unshakable
the rocklike truth is the answer to the question you ask.
When we place our lives in His hands, the winds of life
still rage but we remain steadfast in Him.

The very center verse of the entire Bible is Psalm 118:8
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence
in man." God meant for this to be the center of the word
because this is center of His word. Whenever you are
wondering how to stay centered again, look to Jesus. Ask
Him to be the center of your life.
