Still My Soul

POEM OF THE MONTH
Still My Soul
I will sit before you
And still my striving soul
I will wait before Your throne
And bow my spirit low

I will hear what You would say
No angst will steal the gift
Of words of peace not known to me
That bring my soul a lift

Speak my Lord your servant hears
I’ll still my soul You’ll calm my fears
For nothing can get past a solemn mighty God
I will calm my soul and lift up worthy laud

Oh great King You’re worthy
Of all that I could give
I’ll let Your words of wisdom
Guide the way I live

Lord You have a purpose
For placing me on earth
I’ll embrace it fully
In sorrow and in mirth

SCRIPTURE
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among
the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalms 46:10

THOUGHT
We spend so much time talking and doing and too little time
waiting on God and listening. God wants us to talk with
Him about everything that concerns us, but it is in the
listening to Him that we gain wisdom and strength. God
doesn't want one way communication, He has something very
special to communicate to us if we simply listen.

QUOTE
Native American
Listen or thy tongue will keep thee deaf.
