Hope for Kids

Below is a poem/prayer for those children who feel trapped in a world mastered by a bully. Substitute a name and a gender and read it outloud. If you are being bullied, please seek counseling. The Bible says that there is safety in the presence of many counselors. If you have been bullied your perspective and your self image has been slowly changed. You come to believe that you are of little worth. God feels that you are a treasure and sees everything that touches you. You may struggle with fear, a lack of confidence and will often have a poor self image. If you are a parent of a child who has been bullied you also struggle with distrust, fear and a myriad of emotions that affect you for years. You may tend to be overprotective or overly hard on your child. It's important to seek counsel from a qualified individual to help you and your family heal. Here is a prayer that will help you and your child. Always remember that nothing has the power to change things like the Word of God and no-one will love you as perfectly as your creator God.

Strong Shelter

I pray that _____ be strong in You and in the power of Your might

That he would walk by heavenly faith and not by earthly sight

That he’d see the host of angels that surround his every step

That he’d know the power in him is greater then the rest

I pray that he would see that his God is on the throne

That he would know inside his heart that he is not alone

I pray that he would stand when he feels like he could fall

And see his God’s mighty strength when he’s backed against the wall

That he won’t look at past offense when he’s face to face with fear

That he’ll seek and find the face of God who calms the sea and dries the tear

I pray that You would bend Your ear to his inners cries

That the words of doubt that come he’ll know are only lies

I pray that he would see he has a calling sure and true

And this is just a tiny test of the things that his God can do

Give him eyes to see there is an enemy that hates

That wants to make him doubt his wondrous future fate

My Child,

The God you serve is greater take shelter in His wings

He will confuse your enemies and makes your heart to sing

You are called to greatness to give praise back to Him

So sing to joy for the victory for that He’ll bring time and again
